Certification
The only certificate you earn by getting it wrong.
No exams. No multiple choice. You get certified by doing the thing most people avoid: failing, on purpose, in front of other people.
Two certifications
Fail first. Then help others fail.
For anyone brave enough to show up
Come to a live session. Three hours in a real room where you try, fail, recover, and try again. Everyone who takes part leaves a Certified Failure. It's a badge of honour for showing up and failing on purpose, and yes, people put it on their LinkedIn.
Live sessions run by request for groups, teams, schools, and communities.
For people who want to run the room
Failure coaches host our sessions. They don't teach and they don't lecture. They get people doing, keep the room safe, and fail right alongside everyone else. Teachers, team leads, HR and L&D people, and facilitators all make great coaches.
Schools and companies: we certify your own people, so The Failure School keeps running long after we leave.
The path
How you become a Certified Failure Coach.
- 1
Become a Certified Failure
You can't coach what you haven't felt. Every coach starts as a participant in a live session.
- 2
Build the habit
Show up at the Failure Gym. Coaches practice failing every week, not once.
- 3
Train with us
Learn how to make a room safe, run the activities, and handle the moment when someone really doesn't want to go first.
- 4
Co-host a session
Run part of a real session alongside an experienced coach. You will get something wrong. That's the assessment.
- 5
Get certified, run your own
Host sessions in your school, your company, or your community as a Certified Failure Coach.
Questions people ask
Is there an exam?
No. You're certified for what you do in the room, not for what you can recite afterwards.
Do I need a background in training or facilitation?
No. It helps, but the best coaches are simply people others feel safe around. We train the rest.
Can I get certified online?
Certified Failure happens in person, in a live session. If you're not near one yet, start with the First Fail Challenge and the weekly Failure Gym, both online and free.
We're a school or a company. Can you certify a group of us?
Yes, that's how most coaches get certified. See For Schools or For Corporates, or just email us.
